If you live in Orange County, are the proud owner of a vintage car or custom hot rod made in 1972 or before, and would like to be part of the South Orange County Rods and Customs (SOCRC) family of fellow classic car owners, we would love to add you to our roster! Our members are friendly, welcoming and share your love for these iconic vehicles of American history.
By becoming a club member, you will enhance your classic car ownership experience through camaraderie with others that share your passion for these timeless vehicles. SOCRC offers its members the following benefits:
* Access to exclusive vintage car gatherings and events, such as car shows, rallies and road trips;
* Monthly club meetings and recurring weekly gatherings at local restaurants;
* Networking opportunities with other vintage car enthusiasts, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and experiences;
* Social events such as barbecues, picnics and Holiday parties to foster a sense of community among our members;
* Multi-club gatherings to allow members to cross-network with other car clubs;
* Participation in community service events such as charity car shows or parades, and to give back to the community;
* Potential access to private collections or museums not open to the public through club-organized tours and visits;
* You will receive routine announcements and communiques about club matters and upcoming events;
* Members often provide a resource for information and expertise about maintaining and restoring your vintage car;
* Sharing of information about local repair shops, service providers and where parts can be obtained;
* The opportunity to build life-long friendships with people that share your interests and passion
Membership begins with your attending your first SOCRC monthly meeting as our guest, which occurs on the second Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. We typically meet at a restaurant, although during the summer we host the meetings at the beautiful Laguna Niguel Regional Park with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and potluck delights brought by our members. Spouses are always encouraged to attend our meetings and club events as they are an integral part of SOCRC, and automatically become a member when you join. At your first meeting, you will be officially introduced to our Club and will be asked to tell us a bit about yourself as well as the classic car(s) you own. Subsequent to the first meeting, you will be invited back as our guest to two more meetings and upon the third meeting, the members take a vote as to your joining SOCRC. But not to worry, in the many years of our Club’s existence, we have yet to not vote in a new member!
Once you have joined, your address and contact information will be added to our Club’s Member Roster and you will be asked to pay your first annual dues. From that point forward, you will routinely receive via email our Club’s flyer with announcements, updated roster and a schedule of upcoming events and meetings.
